I hate when devs think they need to make a game the length of your typical "game" it ruins what could have been a short memorable experience of art. Don’t remember the music so I won’t comment on that.Have had it for 2 years started it twice but have never finished it, going to play it soon though.The artwork in this game is brilliant. I played on the ZX Spectrum, the Switch, and almost everything in between.I'd usually play a good three hours, but occasionally I'd spent a lot longer, and occasionally a lot shorter time on them. Between 21st March and 1st of August this year I completed the daily task of playing, and writing about, one game from my vast unplayed backlog.During this time I was furloughed from work. Like I said, it does some things really well which makes it hurt all the more to say that it's a crap game. I do agree that the ending is a bit cryptic, and the Loop is definitely the theory that life is reoccuring in a cycle. Lord Hater.
Owlboy and his Mentor's stuff is really well written and kinda heart wrenching, one of the few things the game hits out of the park. The variety in the gameplay is superb, and the characters are nuanced, flawed even, but ultimately immensely likeable, and it's one of a very small number of games that succeeds in bringing a silent protagonist to bear without having an NPC magically articulating their every thought.I really enjoyed it but it boils my piss that I can't 100% it because of the cannon rings minigame bullshit.People loved this game but it never clicked with me. Liked the visual style though.I liked it and 100%'d it and can understand why. But seeing as how I have not played Owlboy and have no right to an opinion, these are just more of my general thoughts and a tad bit of morning ranting before work.No yeah you're on the money, and I'm not blaming Dunkachu at all, just felt like sharing my experience with the game.Honestly I'd wait for a steam sale, its not worth over $20 IMOI found the game to be extremely boring after the first dungeon. I thought pretty much every plot point was resolved outside of the mystery of the loop and Otus's death (which probably happened).They stop the end of the world by letting it return to it's normal state, which still contains the "the loop" which is probably (and very obviously) just something regarding a cycle of the world ending and coming back, and i'm pretty fine with this being left ambigous, i don't see the point in giving everything Kojima-tier exposition and detail.f you complete one of the sidequests, you will discover that he is not going to survive..If you're talking about Noctae saying in one situation a boy named Otus dies in a battle at floating city.

Sorry dunk, it has a lot of really great moments, and the first dungeon is truly fantastic, but man oh man does this game drop off in the latter half. But man oh man does this game fall apart past that.I wasn't personally a fan of shovel knight, and Owlboy feels like really good Zelda when it's going strong, but Zelda's consistency far exceeds that of Owlboy. about careers press advertise blog. Even ignoring the stealth, enemy design is so infuriating and puzzles are so lazy that it makes me want to put the game down and go play some Zelda.I do feel sort of bad bashing the game, since you can feel the dev's care permeating through parts of it, but in the end that care is just the light shining through cracks in a solidifying mound of shit.
