My group had 20 people and it was difficult to get close enough to read some of the poems before we were moved to the next room. The Long Island Skies show was Great. The Vanderbilt Museum’s Charles and Helen Reichert Planetarium opened its doors to the public in 1971. Plan a visit . People were engaged.

Shows at the Planetarium may be a little too scientific for young kids.Was saddened to learn that for a couple years the museum has been closed and this was never told to us when we bought our admission. Exploring the beautiful grounds, displays and the planetarium, and nostalgic for me...remembering visits from when I was in school. The planetarium was awesome and exploring the mansion and the grounds was so much fun.
We are members and visit quite often. There were numerous docents as we toured, each providing in-depth knowledge about the Vanderbilt family and the mansion's history.
Now we cannot wait to bring our baby as soon as possible.
Great show and exhibits, interesting architecture and a lovely natural setting make this a unique experience any time of the year.Is a nice place to visit and so close to us. You can take your time and absorb it all.Let me begin by saying that I have been to many historical homes and museums, and was quite looking forward to taking the ride down from CT to finally take this landmark in. Sound.
Her favorite part,besides the planetarium, the Lego display (we are a Lego nerd family), she loved walking around to the grounds and of course, she couldn't decide which of the museums was her favorite. Interesting, enjoyable, and look forward to doing it again.
It was like being in a Tuscan Village! I finally got to see the Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, laser show.Great place to visit.
Still fun. From the courtyards to the gardens, all gorgeous!The Planetarium show, One World, One Sky was great for the little kids!The house was beautiful! The structure itself seemed to be crumbling, in need of repair/cleaning (ie mold on the outside etc..) I'd recommend the Newport mansions to anyone, especially Marble House for anyone looking to get a gist of some Vanderbilt history. I have to see it again.There are many shows at the Planetarium. the perfect venue for it .
I highly recommend this place.We brought our 2 and 4 year old to see the early kids show. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in earth sciences and a Master of Business Administration.These courses are designed for beginning to novice-level amateur astronomers – and for anyone who wishes to expand their knowledge of Astronomy and the night sky. The tour was wonderful.
